Lindsey Caroline Vonn (née Kildow) was born on October 18, 1984, in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA, and grew up in the Twin Cities area. She started skiing at age 2, inspired by her grandfather and taught by her father, who was also a competitive skier. When she was 9, her family moved to Vail, Colorado, so she could train with better facilities. At 10 years old, she famously met Olympic gold medalist Picabo Street, who became her role model. At 16 years in 2000 she made her World Cup debut, rose steadily powerfully with numerous numbers of World Cup Records, World Championships, World Cup titles and Crystal Globes across different disciplines.
